Arthur Russell Thiel

Arthur Russell Thiel, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 16", 2025, at the age of 91. Born on April 16, 1934, in Jersey City, New Jersey, to Emma Edelbach and August Thiel, Arthur lived a full and devoted life centered on love, family, and service.

Arthur proudly served his country as a military photographer in the United States Army. Following his service, he dedicated his career to Western Electric and later AT&T, where he worked on repairing submarine fiber optic repeaters. He was a proud lifetime member of the IBEW.

In 1967, Arthur married the love of his life, Constance (Connie) Calato. Together they built a beautiful life in Bayonne, New Jersey, where they shared 58 years of marriage filled with laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion. Arthur had a lifelong love of Disney and cherished family vacations to Florida and Virginia. Above all, his greatest joy was his family, whom he loved more than anything.

Arthur was predeceased by his parents, Emma and August, and his brothers, Richard Thiel and Robert Mitchell. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Constance; his three children and their spouses, Karen and Damian G. Hundley, Emma and Timmy Lamparello, and Arthur R. Thiel Jr.; and his five beloved grandchildren, Joseph Lamparello, Melissa Lamparello, Gannon Hundley, Carson Hundley, and Damian Thiel Hundley.

Arthur will be remembered for his warmth, his humor, and the deep love he carried for his family. His legacy of devotion, kindness, and joy will live on in all who knew and loved him.
